Dr. Brooke Certa serves as Regional Medical Director providing leadership, guidance, and management consulting to our hospitals in southeastern states. Dr. Certa is a native of Illinois and from a young age had a love for animals and pets and wanted to become a veterinarian. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and moved to Tampa, Florida to begin her veterinary career within a national veterinary organization. Her leadership skills allowed her to be promoted to Area Chief of Staff and then Area Medical Director.
Passionate about the veterinary industry, Dr. Certa is active in the Florida Veterinary Medical Association and earned the Gold Star Award for her outstanding contributions to veterinary medicine in Florida and served as President of the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association in 2016. As an adjunct professor in the St. Petersburg College Veterinary Technology Center, she advocates for Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) and helps train technicians on proper anesthesia methods.
Her professional veterinary interests include preventive wellness and senior pet care. When not working, Dr. Certa enjoys spending time with her husband, also a veterinarian, and their two children at the beach and on the water and cheering on the University of Florida Gators.
