Southern Veterinary Partners announces our inaugural Student Clerkship program and our first DVM clerks - Jocelyn Torrence and Andrea Seitz.
Jocelyn is from Montpelier, Virginia and will graduate from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 and plans to be an equine veterinarian. Andrea is from Southlake, Texas and attends Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in emergency veterinary medicine, disaster relief and rehabilitation and enjoys volunteering at wildlife resources.
The SVP Student Clerks are doing a project to provide fresh insight into how to improve the working environment for women veterinarians while also making SVP the ideal place of employment for all veterinarians.
As part of their clerkship program, Andrea and Jocelyn visited some of our hospitals, worked in the home office and attended events at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
The Student Clerk program at SVP began with an agreement with the Center for Public and Corporate Veterinary Medicine (CPCVM) at Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and we are excited about expanding this program in the future.
