Southern Veterinary Partners Grants Inaugural Clinical Year Awards to Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine Students
Southern Veterinary Partners announces the recipients of the inaugural SVP LMU-CVM Student Clinical Year Awards that will each have $25,000 applied directly towards their tuition at Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM).
Following an application process, Southern Veterinary Partners (SVP) selected three veterinary students to receive the inaugural SVP LMU-CVM Student Clinical Year Awards - Shelby Miller, Caroline Dewey and Melissa Frick - all third-year veterinary students scheduled to graduate in 2020.
Says Dr. Jane White, Director of University Relations at SVP, “We look forward to developing relationships with these students during their veterinary education. Upon graduation, SVP will welcome them into our animal hospitals as team members where they will find a work family they will love and a community where they can flourish.”
In the fall of 2018, SVP and LMU-CVM created a partnership aimed at reducing student debt and hiring quality veterinary associates. The SVP LMU-CVM Student Clinical Year Award provides financial support to select veterinary students to significantly lessen their student debt and create a path for employment with SVP following graduation.
“As a leader in our industry, Southern Veterinary Partners is taking the initiative to find innovative ways to lessen the financial burden on veterinary students. By helping to remove the stress of veterinary school debt, we hope to allow them to completely focus on their patients, clients and enjoy life outside of work. I am thrilled to provide this opportunity to these hardworking students,” says Dr. Jay Price, CEO of Southern Veterinary Partners.
LMU-CVM Vice President and Dean Dr. Jason Johnson says, “SVP has really stepped up to the plate to help our veterinary students. Because of innovative partners like SVP, we are able to provide valuable clinical training opportunities and help students mitigate their tuition debt at the same time.”
